“Our founders had a vision: to make retirement living harmonious with care, compassion and a commitment to faith. Today we have a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) that fits the vision perfectly.”
– Donald L. Smith, Atherton Board Member

Atherton has gone beyond being a retirement community to become a caring village of encouragement and inspiration.

Atherton, a respected continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in the greater Pasadena region, has for almost a century been a revered and admired option for men and women who are committed to living lives of faith and friendship with the security of onsite health care, always at hand.

Some of the best care in the entire San Gabriel Valley in assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation and home-based care is found at Atherton. Atherton is affiliated with the University of Southern California School of Medicine and the Azusa Pacific University. USC partners with us in continuing education for residents, staff and the community. Azusa designates us as a teaching site for nursing students.

Quality care—and quality day to day living within the community—is not so much an option as it is, simply, a way of life. Like most CCRCs, we foster a sense of community that supports the health care initiative, both mentally and physically. But unlike many other CCRCs in Alhambra and beyond, our residential options are equally impressive, in style, amenities and selection.

The continuum of care at Atherton not only means taking care of residents in times of ill health. It also means helping everyone here to live lives of contentment and worth.
